Ginger Jones Zurliene

Ginger Jones Zurliene, passed away at her home on March 31, 2021, after a fierce battle with breast cancer. She was born November 12, 1961, in Forest, Miss., to Wade and Joyce Lewis Jones. In 1965, the family moved to Springdale, Ark. Ginger graduated Springdale High School and then University of Arkansas with a marketing degree. She went to work with the marketing research firm Marc in Dallas, Texas. A few years later she transferred to Greensboro, N.C., where she met her future husband, Tim Zurliene. They were married September 16, 1995, at First United Methodist Church in Springdale. They were married 25 years. Ginger received her MBA from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. In 1999, they relocated to Chapel, Hill, N.C., where Ginger became deeply ingrained in the community. In 2009 her family moved to Dusseldorf, Germany, where her circle of friends grew even more. They were welcomed with open arms back to Chapel Hill at the end of their stay in Germany. Once back in Chapel Hill, Ginger got involved in volunteering in her children's schools in many capacities. She was also a huge nature and animal lover. She volunteered at local animal shelters and fostered many dogs over the years. Ginger was known by her beautiful radiant smile and her warm generous heart. She left a trail of friends everywhere she went. She never met a stranger. She had a strong faith that never wavered. She was involved in many Bible studies over the years and was always eager to deepen her faith. She enriched many lives. Ginger was preceded in death by father, Wade Jones, and her husband, Tim Zurliene. She is survived by her two children, Anna and Matthew; her mother, Joyce Jones, of Fayetteville, Ark.; her sister, Georgia Jones Dodson (Bruce) of Hot Springs, Ark.; her nephews, Andrew Dodson (Helen) of Monroe, La.; Aaron Dodson of Hot Springs, Ark.; her brother, Wade, Jr., of Fayetteville, her nieces, Lindsy Jones Cox (Zac) of Hot Springs, Ark., Acacia Jones Reynolds (Nick) of Tontitown, Ark.; great-nieces and great-nephew and countless friends and family members. She loved. She was loved. She will be missed. A memorial service was held April 24, at United Church of Chapel Hill.
