Barbara (Johnson) Matthews

Barbara (Johnson) Matthews, 92, of Little Rock, Ark., went home to be with her Heavenly Father on May 24, 2021. She was born Saturday, December 29, 1928, in Warren, Ark., daughter to the late Ruffus Johnson Sr. and the late Tommie (Green) Johnson. Barbara was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Ark. She was the office manager for Southwest EAP for several years, prior to that she was a medical transcriber for many years. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Kenneth Matthews; a daughter, Toni Matthews; and a brother, Ruffus Johnson Jr. Survivors include a son, Cliff Matthews, and spouse, Elizabeth, of Heber Springs, Ark.; and a grandson, Casey Matthews, Little Rock, Ark. Barbara loved and cared deeply for her family. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, travel and reading. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or Hospice Home Care. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021, and the service will follow at 2 p.m. with officiant, Rev. Judy Rudd. Burial in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home, Warren.
