Ross Edward Ison, Sr., 94, of Sherwood transitioned to his Heavenly address on September 29, 2021. He was born May 18, 1927, in Pulaski County to the late John Conrad Ison and Florence Elizabeth Jackson Ison. He served in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a retired plumber for the Little Rock Air Force Base. Ross was a member of The Connection Church of Sherwood. He was a Master Mason of the Sylvan Hills Masonic Lodge #754. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking, but his family was his first love. Ross is survived by two children: Ross "Eddie" Edward Ison, Jr. (Debbie) and Christie Lynn Ison Dillon; stepson, William "Bill" Beall (Wilma); nine grandchildren, Melissa Anne Hensley (Bill), John Albert Ison (Ashlea), Jennifer Erin Dillon Fason (Jade Lawrence), Jeremy Ross Dillon, Hayley Catherine Dillon, Julia Charles, Jason Beall, Amy Thomas and Mindy King (Joe); sister-in-law, Evelyn Ison; brother-in-law, Leo Harrell; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and longtime companion, Evelyn Hanover. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Beall Ison; siblings, Emogene Brothers (Troy), Jamie Harrell, Tom Ison (Ophelia) George Ison (Clarice), Jack Ison (Bessie) and Jimmie Ison; son-in-law, Steven F. Dillon and stepson, Phillip Beall. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Pershing United Pentecostal Church.
