Johnny Wayne Harris, 70, of Lonoke passed from this life on October 9, 2021, at his home. He was born May 7, 1951, in North Little Rock to the late John R. and Jewell K. (DuVall) Harris. Mr. Harris served his country in the United States Army and attended Cornerstone Worship Center. He was a true cowboy at heart. He loved his Lord, his family, his county, and his animals. Johnny was a hard-working man who took vacation from his job to work on his farm. In August 1998, he was involved in a hay baling accident. He was told that he would never walk or drive again, but in true Johnny fashion he proved everyone wrong. Within a few years he was back to work on his farm, doing what he enjoyed. When he wasn't working on his farm he could be found hunting or fishing. In his earlier years he would ride in the rodeo and was a member of the Mounted Police in Lonoke and Pulaski counties. He will always be remembered as an honest, hard-working, and fiercely loyal father, grandfather, brother, and friend. In addition to his parents, brothers Robert Earl Harris and Garland Ray Harris preceded him in death. Survivors include his children, Shane Harris (Kim) of Lonoke, Shawn Harris (Beverly) of Lonoke, Jenny Rollins (Brad) of Lonoke; committed companion, Doris Walker of Lonoke; grandchildren, Austin Harris of Lonoke, Jordyn Harris of Florida, Dakota Horton of Lonoke, Dalton Harris of Lonoke, Montanna Horton of Lonoke, and Joshua Harris, also of Lonoke. Other survivors include brother, Donald (Tonya) Harris, of Scott; devoted friend, Don Langdon (Carol) of Lonoke, several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be 10:00am, Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Cornerstone Worship Center. Interment will follow at St. Joe Cemetery in Atkins, Ark., at 2 p.m. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.
