Russell B Chitwood, IV, of Cabot, formerly of Russellville and Lake Village, died October 8, 2021, in Little Rock. Born November 30, 1950, Russ grew up in Lake Village, graduating from Lakeside High School in 1969. That year he was one of two Arkansas students selected for the Hearst U.S. Senate Youth Program. While at Hendrix College, he served as senate president before graduating in 1973 with a B.A. in history. Russ also earned an M.S. in operations management from the University of Arkansas. He managed businesses for years before transitioning to higher education as a management professor, with tenures at universities in Russellville and Memphis. Russ later founded a leadership development consulting company before joining Regions Bank as director of corporate training. Russ's real joy, however, was being a father--raising his daughters Carolyn and Courtney. Fatherhood was his greatest responsibility and his greatest success. He will be missed dearly. Russ was preceded in death by his parents, R.B. and Nancy Wave Chitwood; and sister, Nancy Carolyn Webb. He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Carolyn Chitwood of Fayetteville, and Courtney Chitwood of Little Rock; nephew, Robert Russell Webb of Willow Springs, Mo.; and countless family and friends. Due to COVID-19, a remembrance will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). Cremation Arrangements Entrusted to Arkansas Cremation. www.ArkansasCremation.com.
