Beverly Ann (Schiedel) Jacobsen, 84, of Jefferson City, Missouri, formerly of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Adams Place. Bev was born March 2, 1937, in Pierre, South Dakota, to Leo and Helen (Brummer) Schiedel. Bev was united in marriage on November 11, 1963, to James Jacobsen in South Dakota. After graduating from Mount Marty High School in Yankton, South Dakota, she worked at the telephone company until she had her four children and became a stay-at-home mom. She would often make her homemade pizzas, spaghetti, and cinnamon rolls, for her children and their friends, and she always found the time to take her four children to all their activities. Bev was an avid golfer at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield and was active in their Women's Association. After her husband's retirement, they moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, where she continued playing golf. Bev enjoyed her time with each of her nine grandchildren, always taking them for "serious shopping," which was going to the candy store to get all of the candy they wanted. Bev loved her music and played her piano all of the time for her family. Dance parties were a regular occurrence with her children and grandchildren. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's ten years ago, Bev never let that stop her from living life to the fullest. It just made her a stronger person. We will all remember her smile and laughter. She is survived by her children, Joel Jacobsen (Michelle) of Olathe Kansas, Brenda Hise (Ken) of Jefferson City, Missouri, Kay Henderson of Milton, Iowa, and Keith Jacobsen (Deborah) Jacobsen of Fredonia, Kansas; her nine grandchildren, Chelsea Comiskey(Sam), Jesse Jacobsen(Kayli), Jonah Jacobsen, Maggie Jacobsen, Tatum Nelson(Aaron), Jack Henderson, Jacoba Jacobsen, Mark Jacobsen(Allie), and Jerimiah Jacobsen; great- grandchildren, Jacob, Lily, and Tommy Comiskey, Aria and Cass Jacobsen. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her two brothers, Don and Jim Schiedel. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021, 10 a.m., at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Jefferson City, with Fr. Louis Nelen officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street, Jefferson City, Missouri, 65109, 573-636-3838. Condolences may be left online for the family at: www.millardfamilychapels.com.
