Gale Elton Brewer, 70, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, September 14, 2021. He was at home surrounded by his family and closest friends. He was born August 5, 1951, in Wabbaseka, to the late Harrison E. and Mattie Bell (Givens) Brewer. Gale was a lifetime farmer. His last crop was in 2016. Even after retirement, he still enjoyed helping his sons on the farm. Harvest was his favorite time of year! He studied taekwondo in Pine Bluff and earned his 3rd degree black belt under the teaching of Ron Turchi. He helped Scott Monk open an ATA in Stuttgart and was a longtime instructor there. He served his community in many capacities on local boards and held leadership positions. He was President of Jefferson County Cattlemen's Association and most recently Vice President of Jefferson County Cattlemen's Association, President of Farmer's Supply board, and he was on the board of England Liquid Fertilizer to name a few. Gale loved his God. He was saved as a young man in the middle of a cotton field. He touched many lives throughout his life with his testimony. He wanted everyone he came in contact with to know the peace and joy of knowing the Savior he knew. Gale was very well known for saying the longest prayers, and even though his children and grandchildren would "warn" people about how long he could talk to the Lord, he was inevitably always asked to pray before a meal or at the end of a church service. He was a Sunday School teacher for 50 years, and he was humbled and blessed to be ordained as a Deacon October 15, 2016. Gale's favorite titles were Honey, Daddy, and Papa. He was the patriarch of his family, and he was the very best husband, father, and grandfather that could be asked for. He will be missed greatly, but he is awaiting his family and friends in Heaven. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Carol Crosby Brewer; his children, Gale Brock Brewer (Amanda Marie), Britt Crosby Brewer (Jennifer Hankins), and Laura Elizabeth Brewer; brother, James Milton Brewer (Johnita); sister, Vickie Lynn Bogy (Paul Ray); grandchildren, Lexie, Brennan, Kennedy, Lofton, Tyner, Beckett, Blaiz, Laura Caroline, and Savannah; nieces and nephews, Bryan Brewer, Jennifer Socia, Brooke Davis, and Brandon Bogy; and lifelong friend whom he considered a brother, Raymond Bryant. A Celebration service will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 10 a.m., at Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church with Pastors Randy Cloud, Rusty Womble, and Mike Powell officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery, Sheridan, under the direction of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2021, at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors. Memorial contributions may be made to Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church and Arkansas Children's Hospital. Online condolences and registration is at: www.ralphrobinsonandson.com.
