Glen Stovall Farmer

The Lord was gracious and welcomed Glen Stovall Farmer into glory on September 17th at 94 years old. He lived a full, meaningful life beginning in Hamburg, Ark., on August 16, 1927. His parents were William Riley Farmer and Ernestine Stovall Farmer. Stovall joined the Navy during WWII and then was drafted into the Army to serve in the Korean War. He married Eleanor Rose Denson from Fountain Hill on March 13, 1951. They were married 70 wonderful years and had two daughters. Stovall was one of a kind – funny, congenial, stock market savvy, and devoted to the Lord. He was a great golfer and boasted that he shot his age at the Arlington course at 80 years old. Stovall cherished the many friends that he made throughout his life, on and off the golf course. His career started at the ADN Railroad and then continued at Georgia Pacific where he worked for many years as manager in areas such as Personnel, Safety, and Workman's Compensation. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Crossett and later at Hot Springs Baptist during his retirement years. Stovall valued integrity, wisdom, and his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Stovall was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eleanor, who passed away just 12 days earlier. He was also preceded in death by sisters Martile Farmer and Betty Mitchell; brother Billy Farmer; and grandson, Thomas Farmer Lusby. He leaves behind his devoted daughters, Vicki Farmer Worrell (Lealon)of North Little Rock, Ark., and Sandra Farmer Lusby (Richard) of Jonesboro, Ark.; as well as six grandchildren; Meredith Worrell Shipman (Oliver), James Worrell, Kathryn Worrell Waller (Zach), Jessica Worrell (Stephen Wilson), Ted Lusby (Catherine), and John Frihart-Lusby (Rosie). Stovall was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, Layne, Evy, Brylie, Dove, Lottie, and Laura James. They all loved their "Pops"! There were many other members of his extended family and friends who meant much to Stovall. Special thanks to the staff at Parkstone Independent Living, Fox Ridge Assisted Living, and Lakewood Nursing. There will be a joint memorial service celebrating the lives of Stovall and Eleanor Farmer on September 25th in the chapel at Jones Funeral Home in Crossett, Ark.
