Billie Jewell Lassiter, 91, of Searcy, passed away on September 25, 2021. She was born October 24, 1929, in Magness, Arkansas, to Otis and Ella Grisham Flippo. She attended Batesville High School and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Home Economics. She taught many young men and women the skills of keeping up a home, cooking, and sewing in the Cave City, Griffithville, and McRae, Public School Districts. On June 3, 1956, Billie married Bill Lassiter in Batesville, Arkansas. After a few moves, the couple settled in Searcy, Arkansas, in 1962 to raise their family. They were members of West Race Baptist Church where Billie served by making meals and writing cards to those in need. She was also a former choir member and scripture listener in Awana's children's program. To her family, she was the Sunday dinner host, the professional gardener, the lover of red roses, cokes, the Razorbacks, and a wonderful mother and Nana. Billie is survived by her two children, Cindy (Jim) Sullivan and Steve (Colleen) Lassiter. Three grandchildren: Leslie (Jake) Cypert, Courtney (Stephen) Underwood, and Brandi Liles (Alex Guin). Three great-grandchildren: Marshall Cypert, Kinsley Underwood, and Easton Underwood. A brother, Jack (Lyla) Flippo and sister-in-laws, Martha (Mike) Barber and Faye (Willard) Lassiter, and several nieces and nephews. She also had a special care-giver, Sunny Cypert. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother, Odell Flippo, and sister, Van Mantooth. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 at West Race Baptist Church in Searcy. Funeral services will be Friday, at 2 p.m., at West Race Baptist Church in Searcy. Arrangements are entrusted to Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy. Online guestbook: rollerfuneralhomes.com
