Ella Mae Reese

Ella "Mae Mae" Reese, 85, of Conway, Ark., went to be with the Lord August 2, 2022. She was born November 6, 1936, in Nashville, Ark., to Elmer and Ruthel "Bummy" Anderson Floyd. Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Edwin Reese. Ella graduated Nashville High School in 1954. She later received her bachelor's degree from Harding College Magna Cum Laude, and a master's degree from State College of Arkansas (UCA). She taught in the Arkansas Public School System for 20 years. She was appointed to the first Board of Directors of the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Science and the Arts by Governor Bill Clinton, where she served for eight years. She served a term on the Conway Planning Commission. She is a past Local President of Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO). She is a past Local and State President of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She was an active member of Four Winds Church. Ella loved Her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her family, and her friends. She loved gardening, cooking, and fresh peaches. She also loved her dogs, Feisty, Happy, Dusty, Sugar, Norma Jean, and many others. Ella had a passion for education and always worked to lift up the voices of educators. Anyone that knew Ella knows her huge heart, and that she always sought to leave the world better than she found it. We will always remember Ella with her huge smile and charitable spirit. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Chris Reese and wife, Sandy Duncan-Reese; her pride and joy, grandson Trent Reese; her step-granddaughter, Mollie Parks, and husband, Jake Parks; two great-grandchildren, Drake and Archer Parks; and a host of other Family and Friends. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Ark. Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2022, Roller McNutt. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Restland Memorial Park in Nashville, Ark.
