Leonard "Buddy" Lovell

Leonard ‘Buddy' Lovell, of Perryville, passed away after doing what he enjoyed most, hunting! on Dec. 10, 2022. Born Oct. 11, 1941, in Perryville, Ark., to Rev. Leonard and Ollie McGhee Lovell. He was the youngest of five children. He was proud to be from Perry County and served in the U.S. Navy before many years as an employee of First Electric Cooperative before retiring. He never met a stranger, and had many friends far and wide. His love of hunting and fishing was passed on to many, both family and friends. Known for his cooking skills, he loved to have big meals for both and continued cooking at the Wednesday Night Deer Camp until his passing. He lived his life to the fullest, surrounded by his adoring family, and was quick to say his family was everything to him. He loved Bluegrass music and played the Fiddle up until his passing. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 62 years, Barbara, daughter Deborah Lovell-Highfill (Daniel), son Keith (Leslie), his four precious grandchildren, Josh Lovell (Kelly), Jessi English (Dan), Luke Lovell, and Gracie Lovell, and the rest of his world, his four Great-Grandchildren, who absolutely thought he was it: Peyton Duke, Greyson Lovell, Everett Lovell and Doug English. He is also survived by his precious Sister, Tommie George of Adona, brother-in-law, Larry Baker (Linda) of North Carolina and many dear nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. Other than his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Euell (Sonny) Lovell, Sisters, Louise Smith, Wynema Lovell and Great Granddaughter, Makaylee Duke, brothers-in-law, James (Red) George and Jim Smith. A Private Burial will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful doctors and nurses at Conway Regional Hospital, for their kindnesss and loving care provided to Bud and his family.
