Eugene J. "Gene" Mazzanti

EUGENE J "GENE" MAZZANTI, age 90, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022, in Little Rock. He was born March 14, 1932, to Enrico and Maria Mazzanti in Lake Village, ArK. Gene was a retired attorney and state administrative law judge, having earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and he was President of the last graduating class of the Little Rock Law School. While in college, Gene was 4-year lettermen as a fullback and linebacker for the Boll Weevils. He was a veteran serving as an Army Sargeant during the Korean War and was a charter member of Christ the King Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and taught Catechism classes. He was a generous and caring person who supported various charities and provided much support for family throughout his lifetime. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Victor, Ned, Al, Henry Jr, Paul, and Armando Mazzanti, as well as sisters, Rose McEwen and Gloria Morara. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Harriet; son, Michael, and daughter, Gayelynne Craig (Steve) all of Little Rock. He was also a very loving paw paw to four grandkids David Craig (Sarah), Stephanie Edwards (Daniel), Daniel Craig (Christie), Elizabeth Hudson (Rob) and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Fiore and Frank, as well as, sister, Catherine Talbot. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 14, 2022, from 5-6 p.m., with Rosary at 6 p.m., at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home of Little Rock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, December 15 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Little Rock. Burial will be in St. Isidore Cemetery in Lake Village that afternoon.
