Penelope "Penni" (Boyd) Benton went to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ peacefully surrounded by the people she loved most in life, her family. She was born on November 13, 1944, to Pete and Katherine Boyd of Little Rock. She married the love of her life Joe Benton and moved to Rose Bud. They raised their three boys the best way they knew how: with an immense amount of love. In her 78 years of life, she played many roles; Teacher's Aide, Bus Driver and she retired as a Rural Mail Carrier in the Mount Vernon/Enola area. Among those many roles her most important was being the glue that held her family together. She was the best mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She valued her faith and family above everything. She was a member of the Mt. Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. She was patient, strong, beautiful and sweet. She never met a stranger and was often thought of as a grandma to all. She will be missed greatly by those who had the opportunity to know and to love her. Her memory will live on through her kids and many grandkids. Penni is preceded in death by her parents CE "Pete" Boyd and Katherine Maureen Boyd, her husband of 59 years Joseph Barry Benton II, and her sister Carlene Carruth. She is survived by her three sons, Joseph Barry Benton III (Brianna) of Rose Bud, Bryan Carl Benton (Kristal) of Vilonia and Christopher Lee Benton of Rose Bud. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nickie Alexander (Jon) of Rose Bud, Brittney Burks (Blake) of Plumerville, Natalie Bryant (Devin) of Rose Bud, Clara Weatherley (Kolt) of Greenbrier, Parker Benton of Quitman, Grant Moody of Rose Bud, Drew Benton of Quitman, Canton Moody of Rose Bud, Lane Hunter of Vilonia, Brilee Jean Benton of Rose Bud and Carter Benton of Vilonia. Her brothers, Mike Boyd of Cabot and Patrick C Boyd (Patty) of Little Rock. She is also survived by nine very special great- grandchildren that she thought the world of. The Family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice Care, and the many people who took outstanding care of her. Particularly, Nichole and Stephanie who were huge blessings to our family and to our grandmother. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at the Mt. Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Rose Bud. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at noon. Interment will follow in the Mt. Bethel Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are, Billy Don Reynolds, Jimmy Hawkins, Terry Lester, Russ Moon, Zack Heffentrager, Hunter McClung. Honorary pallbearer includes Glenn Rogers. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. www.powellfuneralhome.net
