Jean Pankey

JEAN PANKEY, age 84, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022. She lived at Vitality Pleasant Hills in Little Rock for the past five years. Jean and her husband, James, moved from Batesville to Little Rock 14 years ago to be near family. She was a medical record librarian at Gray's Hospital in Batesville and later in her career she was director of the Community School in Batesville. She had a special love for children and her family. She was an avid reader and loved Wordle. She is preceded in death by her husband James. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Janie McNeill and husband Phil; two grandchildren, Bo McNeill and wife Jamie, Jeanne Johansson and husband Oskar. Jean was also blessed with four great-grandchildren; Olivia and Maya McNeill, Jett and Axel Johansson; one brother Bo Roberson and several nieces and nephews. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. We take comfort in knowing she has joined the love of her life in heaven. A celebration of the lives of James and Jean Pankey will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Cypress Social Restaurant in North Little Rock from 5-7 p.m. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
