Juanita (Nita) Johnson Zemp died December 13, 2022, at home. She was 95 years old. She was born September 14, 1927, in Quitman, Ark., to Ermon and Cordie (Tackett) Johnson. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard Zemp; son; Gary Zemp granddaughter, April Zemp Bacher; sisters, Marie Harrison, Betty Fletcher; her brother, George Johnson; and her parents. Juanita graduated high school of Centerville, Ark. Later on she graduated from Ponca City Beauty School and was a hairdresser until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Her hobbies included fishing, crocheting, country western dance, traveling, genealogy, and most of all her family. Juanita married Leonard Zemp on November 3, 1946, and made their first home in Pawnee, Okla. Afterwards they moved to Ponca City, Okla., in 1947. She and Mr. Zemp traveled to 29 different countries, Switzerland being her favorite. Switzerland was her husband's ancestral home where she researched and located more than 75 of the Swiss Zemps. She is survived by her sister, Pat Gresham of Conway, Ark.; grandson, Jeff Zemp of Ponca City, Okla.; great-grandsons, Jake Zemp of Tulsa, Okla., and Treavor Zemp of Conway, Ark.; and her numerous nieces and nephews along with two great-nephews. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations or memorials to Hospice Home Care of Conway, Ark., or the Heart Divisions of Medical Research of Oklahoma City, Okla. Funeral services will be held Friday December 16, 2022, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Ark., at 2 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park also in Conway.
