Annette Gibbs Haney

On the morning of December 3, 2022, ANNETTE GIBBS HANEY of Maumelle died in her home at the age of 85, surrounded by her family. Annette was born to Doyle and Katherine Gibbs in 1937. She received a bachelor's degree in music from Central College for Women, now known as UCA. For more than 65 years she was a music educator in England, Ark., and for the State of Arkansas. Annette developed the music therapy program for Arkansas Mental Health Services, was a private music instructor to many, and provided music for several churches throughout her life. Annette is preceded in death by her parents, Doyle and Katherine Gibbs, her only brother Billy Gibbs, her loving husband Edward Haney, and her only child Sterling Rogers. Annette is survived by her grandchildren, Jay and Ava Rogers of Benton, Ark., William Jibas (Raquel) of Bella Vista, Ark., and Angie Jibas, daughter-in-law Brooke Rogers of England, Ark., niece Edie Gibbs Friese (Steven) of Hot Springs, Ark., cousin (who she considered more like a sister) Betty McKnight of Little Rock, Ark., and several other great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Prior to her passing, she hosted a celebration of life at her home with friends and family. To honor Annette's wishes her ashes will be dispersed at a later date, along with her husband Edwards, in a private service of close friends and family.
