Mildred Laverne Tate Ellard was promoted to heaven on Dec. 21, 2022. She was affectionately referred to by Moms, Millie, Auntie, and Runt. Millie was born in Carlisle, Ark., on Feb. 16, 1926, to Leon Huey, Sr. and Vera Idell Huey. Millie was preceded in death by her first husband, Park Elbert Tate; her late husband, Edward "Babe" Ellard; her daughter, Diane T. Kerr; her son, Gary Don Tate; her sisters, Nita Ellard & Alice Lind; and her brother, Leon Huey, Jr. She is survived by her brothers: Doyle Huey, Bill Huey (Billie Jean) and Robert Huey (Linda); her sister, Ruby Davis; her son-in-law, Raymond Kerr; her grandchildren, Kimberly Moore (David), Caleb Kerr (Hilary), Josh Kerr (Leah) and Adam Tate. Millie loved her seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Millie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved spending time with her friends & family and fed everyone that entered her door! She worked at Dillard's jewelry for many years. Millie dressed to the nines for special occasions including matching nail polish. She was known for her loving and giving spirit! Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home with Reverend Don Cooper officiating. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., prior to the service.
