ATTORNEY RICHARD MAYS, JR. was born in Little Rock, Ark., on Dec. 1, 1967, to Richard L. Mays, Sr. and Jennifer L. Mays. Affectionately known as "Ricky". Professionally, Ricky worked as an attorney and public official, although his career started in real estate. Ricky began his law career working with his father, his sister, Tiffany, and long-time family friend, Arkie Byrd. Ricky focused on business, real estate, personal injury, and criminal defense. More recently, Ricky served as an adjunct professor at Philander Smith College, where he taught Principles of Real Estate, Business Law, and Ethics. Always interested in public service, Ricky served on several public boards, including the Arkansas Board of Parole, the State of Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board, and the City of Little Rock Water Reclamation Commission, where he was past chairman. A proud HBCU graduate, Ricky received a BBA from Howard University and a JD from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. Ricky also obtained an MBA from Webster University. Ricky was a loud and proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity (Pi Boule - Little Rock, Ark.). Ricky leaves to cherish his memory an adoring family, including his wife of 20 years, Amna; children, Richard Mays III "Mays" and Jennifer Mays "Mina"; father, Richard (Supha Mays); sisters, Kimberly, Latisse (James Stovall, Esq.), and Tiffany (Prentice O'Quinn, III); uncle George (Sherrie Mays), cousins; Gregory (Tojuanna Mays) and Valerie (Eugene Rollin, III); and a host of nephews, nieces, Godmothers, Godfathers, God-aunts, God-uncles, and a lifetime of friends.
