Margaret Ann Davis Rosa
North Little Rock, AR, 1938 - 2022
Christmas Day, December 25, 2022, Margaret Ann Davis Rosa took her last breath. Margaret was born on April 27, 1938 to Ralph and Norma Davis in Kingsland, Ark.
She had a steadfast and devout upbringing in Fordyce, Ark., that fabricated the foundation of her well-versed zealous and buoyant life. She carried herself with the upmost elegance and a devotion for everyone and everything she encountered. As a well-educated and vigorous student of life, Margaret was inspired to pursue a career in education and even more so a life dedicated to people.
Most of her young adulthood was spent in Mountain View, Ark., as an educator. Alongside her husband, Bill Rosa, they had a resort business and later relocated to North Little Rock in the early 1980s, where she expanded her skill-set and career into management, real estate, and real estate development. Her true passion was people and with the firm belief in all people and the good in all of life, she expanded her allegiances to the Arkansas Department of Corrections Boot Camp. This midlife endeavor came to be one her proudest achievements. Her absolute proudest being her family.
Margaret lived in great love with her husband for 58 years. They raised three children of their own together, but shaped and endless amount of lives throughout theirs together. Even through great loss and life's many challenges, Margaret led with such grace, love, and a steadiness that so many relied on, depended on, and cherished. She was in many ways the unconscious hand on everyone's shoulder, the arms at the base of every fall, and the cheerleader in everyone's corner. She was the one that got everyone through, but probably never knew it. Her strength was silent and unmatched. She was an unlikely beholder, but the best at such. Her roles were widespread: daughter, sister, wife, mother, teacher, friend, and child of God. Faith she held, devoted she lived, and loved she was, and forever will be.
Margaret is survived by her sister, Gwen Boyd Porter; three children, William "Bill" H. Rosa IV and his wife Carrie Rosa, Judi Rosa Purtle and her husband Michael Purtle, and Lisa Rosa Powell and her husband John Powell; grandchildren, Grace Purtle Valentine and her husband Braye Valentine, Cole Purtle and his wife Jasmine Purtle, Alexandra Best, Abbigail Best, and William Best; and great-granddaughter, Adeline Valentine.
Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home, North Little Rock, Ark., on Wednesday December 28th, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. Service at First Baptist Church of Mountain View, Ark., Thursday December 29th, 2022, at 1 p.m., with a burial at Flatwoods Cemetery immediately following.
