CLIFFORD DARRYL MESSER, 86, of Little Rock, Ark., died on Monday, December 26,2022. Darryl Messer was born April 2, 1936, to Clifford Messer and Thelma Pickard Messer in Hope, Ark. Darryl graduated high school and began his career as a hardware salesman. Darryl retired in 1997 from Baird & Company. Darryl and Joyce lived in Pine Bluff, Ark., for 50 years. Darryl held many positions including as a school board member for Watson Chapel Public Schools for 15 years and a charter member of the Watson Chapel Lions Club. Darryl enjoyed duck hunting and fishing. Darryl is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Joyce Greenlee Messer. Darryl leaves behind two children; Andy (Sharon) Messer and Leigh Ann (Dickie) Hooton. Grandchildren; Lauren (Kyle) Taylor, Austin (Olivia) Messer, Brett (Melissa) Hooton, Nikki (Chris) Magee, and Whitney (Zack) Redmon. Great-grandchildren; Selby and Thomas Hooton; Luke and Julianne Magee; and Annabelle, Lillian, Thatcher, and Sophie Redmon; Mason and Mackenzie Taylor; and Ansley Messer. Darryl is also survived by his sister, Nita McDonald, and several nieces and nephews. Darryl is proceeded in death by his mother and father, siblings, Bobby Messer, Carrol Messer, and Lenora Dalrymple. A visitation will be held at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home on Alcoa Road in Benton on Friday, December 30,2022, from 5-7 p.m. A graveside will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope, Ark. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
