Lester Moore, 72, of Springdale, passed away at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville on Monday, December 26, 2022. Lester was born November 23, 1950, in Luxora, Ark., to Lester Earl Moore and Mary Martin Moore. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969-1972 and completed a tour in Vietnam as a radio relay repairman. Lester spent the majority of his career in law enforcement, retiring as the Chief of Police at the Fayetteville VA Hospital in 2009. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his sister Dorothy Ann; and his beloved poodle, Priscilla. He is survived by his three children, Asa Moore of Fayetteville, Caleb Moore of Springdale and Sarah Moore of Springdale; three grandchildren, Noah Moore of Fayetteville and Gwyn and Logan Kloepping of N.Y.; six siblings, Mary Middleton of Covington, Tenn., Gerry Vernon of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., Bill Moore of Covington, Tenn., Donald Moore of Benton, Ark., Leonard Moore (Dorothy) of Collinsville, Texas, and Jimmy Moore of the Philippines; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Beard's Funeral Chapel, 855 S Happy Hollow Rd, Fayetteville, Ark., 72701. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2022, from 5-7 p.m., and the memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2022, from 2-4 p.m. Lester will lovingly be remembered for his love of the beach, Chinese food, and all things dessert, especially "air pudding", which was always free and available in any flavor. Dad, you will be greatly missed: may you have cake for breakfast every day and wine before bed every night and know that you will forever be in our hearts.
