Shirley Laverne White Banks

Shirley Laverne White Banks was born November 23, 1952, in Wabbaseka, Ark., to the late James White, Sr., and Ruth S. Dobson White. She attended and graduated from J. S. Walker High School, Wabbaseka, Ark., in 1970. She attended and graduated from Capital City Business College in 1973. She accepted Christ in 1965 under the leadership of Reverend N.B. McCall at the Star Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Wabbaseka, Ark. She worked in the Wabbaseka School District, and later retired from the Watson Chapel School District in 2009. Shirley was a loving, caring, and giving person. Shirley was united in holy matrimony to the late James A. Banks. He preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: one stepdaughter, Rhonda Banks Crenshaw, of Memphis, Tenn., two stepsons, Kenneth Banks of Texas and Ricky Banks of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Evelyn (John) Howell of Pine Bluff, Ark.; three brothers, Alvin (Bonita) White of Wabbaseka, Ark., Shelby (BaBa) White of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Ronnie White of Arlington, Texas; two nieces, Marrian (Walter) Boone of Cibolo, Texas; Rani Hardaway and two nephews, Chad and DyJorn Howell who she helped raise and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A visitation will be held at the P.K. Miller Mortuary, Pine Bluff, on Thursday evening, January 6, 2022 from 5-7 p.m.
