Lois Gene Newman

Lois Gene Newman, 88, of Springdale, passed away on July 3, 2022, at her home. She was born on February 23, 1934 in Wetumka, Okla., to Claud Wood and Helen Williamson Wood. Lois retired from Springdale Memorial Hospital after working there many years. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and a great cook. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William C. Newman; one daughter, Sherry Bohannan; and three brothers, Bill Wood, Tom Wood, and Roy James Wood. Survivors include her three sons, Donnie Newman and wife Debra of Tontitown, Bobby Wayne Newman and wife Glenda of Goshen, and Brian C. Newman and wife Pam of Goshen; a sister-in-law, Shirley Wood of Texas; sister-in-law, Maureen Moore of Springdale; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dwain and Glenda Newman, also of Springdale; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 5-7 p.m., at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale. A private graveside service will take place at Bluff Cemetery.
