Anne Kennedy Young

of Scott, AR, 1938 - 2022

Beloved mother and Grandmother, Anne Kennedy Young, passed from this life into eternal life on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the age of 84, surrounded by her family who loved her fiercely.
Anne is preceded in death by her husband, George V. Young; her parents, Grace Steed Coombe, step father, Carl Coombe, and father, Samuel Kennedy; one sister, Lyda Bess Pierce; four brothers, Samuel Kennedy Jr., Clyde Gordon Kennedy, Norman Kennedy, and Sidney M. Kennedy; and her sister-in-law, Minola Kennedy.
She is survived by her three sons, Leon Brockinton (Kathy), Steve Brockinton (Gina), and David Brockinton; two daughters, Debra Brockinton Reed and Deanna Walton; 10 grandchildren, Nicole Sagraves, Bruce Brockinton, Dustin Brockinton, Collin Reed, Brandon Brockinton, Dylan Reed, Lyndsey Rice, Alexa Reed Mouton, Ashlan Brockinton Jones, and Blake Brockinton; and four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born in Hunter (Woodruff County), Ark., in 1938, Anne grew up in Little Rock and North Little Rock, Ark. After graduating from North Little Rock High School, she lived all her life in the North Little Rock area. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock and a proud member of the Red Hat Society, choosing to wear her favorite color purple whenever possible. Anne retired from L'Oréal USA after 23 years of dedicated service.
Anne was an amazing woman who led an extraordinary life. Her pride was her family, who meant everything to her. Over the years, Anne enjoyed sewing, ballroom dancing, lunching with her best friend, Laura, growing plants and flowers, watching Family Feud, and doting on Bugsy and her Boxer dogs. She was equally famous for her apple cake and for her selflessness, both of which she showered on her family in abundance and both of which will be sorely missed.
We will remember Anne for her ever-present love, her sharp wit, her endearing stubbornness, and her dedication to her family, who will strive to continue her legacy of love. While she will be missed by many, we are thankful that she is with Jesus in her heavenly home, where we know she has earned her wings.
Anne will be honored in a celebration of life on Tuesday July 19. Visitation is from 12:30-2 p.m. with a short ceremony to follow led by Anne's nephew, Pastor Anthony Kennedy.
Condolences: 442 Chimney Rock North Little Rock AR 72120
