James Orville Holland

James Orville Holland, 72, of Gravette, Ark., died July 9, 2022, at Ozarks Community Hospital. He was born September 27, 1949, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of Orville A. and Fern (Tittsworth) Holland. He was a 1967 graduate of Easton (Mo.) High School, and held an associate degree in Electrical Engineering from Johnson County Community College in Kansas City, Mo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1967 to 1971 as a ground radio communications equipment repairman. He attained the rank of Sergeant and was stationed for a time in the Philippines. He worked for Wulfsberg Electronics in Overland Park, Kan., and after moving to Arkansas, had operated his own business, JH Remodeling, for almost 30 years. He married Susan Douglas August 14, 1992, in Gravette. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy ‘Wezie' Walker; a brother, Dennis Pike; a daughter, Lanessa; and his stepfather, Charles Bennett. Survivors include his wife, Susan, of the home; a son, Josiah Holland, and wife, Heather, of Gravette; three grandchildren: A.J. Holland and wife, Jadyn, of San Antonio, Texas; Alyssa Holland, and Matthew Holland, both of Gravette; a sister, Wanda Kay Shaw and husband, Chuck, of Gallatin, Mo.; and two brothers: Donald Pike, of St. Joseph, Mo., and Rick Holland and wife, Celia, of Joplin, Mo. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Douglas Cemetery in Highfill. Cremation was under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
