Kenneth "Chub" William Hughes, 89 of Springdale died Monday, July 18, 2022, at home. He was born on January 20, 1933, in Springdale, Ark., to Roy William Hughes and Cecile Geneva Mason Hughes. He served in the U. S. Army during post war time, stationed in Germany where he played the bugle at reveille and taps for his company. He married Freida Mae Sisemore on June 14, 1957, in Springdale. He worked various jobs and was an avid aviator. He was a member of Robinson Avenue Church of Christ. He served as an Elder and Deacon at Johnson Church of Christ, he loved music and singing. Played the dobro, steel guitar, and trumpet. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Freida; two sisters, Loretta Hughes Ball and Lenora Hughes Sutton; and one brother, Harold Hughes. He is survived by his children, Brenda Hughes Bohannan and husband Mike of Fayetteville, Jeff Hughes and wife Kim of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Greg Hughes and wife DeLynn of Eureka Springs; one sister, Donna Danner; and two brothers, Herbert Hughes of Farmington, and Larry Hughes of Bella Vista; his grandchildren, Amber Arrington (Eric), Blake Hughes (Kendra), Morgan Lambert (Trey), Jessica Hughes, Jared Hughes (Rachael); and his great-grandchildren, Ella, Luca, Milo, Olli, Ellie, Oakley, and McKinley. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 20th, from 5-7 p.m. at Westfield Chapel in Springdale. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 21st, at 10 a.m. at Robinson Avenue Church of Christ.
