Peggy Jean Lacewell Cathey, age 90, of Thornton, died Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce, Arkansas. She was born August 8, 1931, in Fordyce, Arkansas. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Thornton United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl Earnest Lacewell and Sarah Elizabeth Poole Lacewell; and husband, Lee Roy Cathey, Sr. Peggy is survived by one son, Lee Roy Cathey, Jr. of Thornton; three daughters, Libby Coates of Thornton, Becky (Eugene) Heatherly of Fordyce, Mary Dell (Tommy) Harper of Thornton; one special cousin, Patricia Brandon of Whitting, Ind.; three grandchildren, Tom (Dana) Cook of Benton, Michelle (Steve) Timmermans of Fayetteville, Brae (Candace) Harper of Gentry; and two great-grandchildren, Riggs Harper of Gentry and Lauren Cook of Benton.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, at Benton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Grigsby officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery near Bearden.
