Elizabeth "Liz" Daye (Porter) Campbell went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 15, 2022, at the age of 83 at her home in Jonesboro. She was born July 8, 1939, to Palestine (Hill) and Edgar Porter in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Little Rock Central High School and attended Little Rock University (UALR). She then married the love of her life, Norman. Liz was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. You never had to wonder if she loved you because she would follow you out of the house and down the driveway telling you over and over again. She was an avid story-teller with a keen way of mixing up words in the most hilarious fashion. She never cared much about material things but she loved people and people loved her. She was the epitome of a sweet, southern Mama and the best Mawmaw EVER. No one will ever take her place in the hearts of everyone who knew her. She was the perfect hostess and all who crossed her threshold were welcomed into the family and handed a plate of food. She had a faith in Jesus that shaped the way she lived her life, and it was a wonderful life, indeed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman L. Campbell, Sr.; and her two brothers, Matthew Porter and Talbot Porter. She is survived by her three children, Angela Gary (Dwight) of Jonesboro, Ark., Laura Tinnell of Jonesboro, Ark., and Larry Campbell (Cindy) of Cabot, Ark. Also left to cherish her memory are her brother, Duncan Porter (Lael) of Dallas, Texas, and sister-in-law, Myrtle Porter of East End, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Matthew Gary (Gena), Daniel Gary (Allison), Sean Tinnell (Liz), Chase Tinnell (Colleen), Tyler Campbell (Adrianne), Jordan Turbeville (Cole), Laney Tinnell, Katie Alston (Gavin), and Jack Campbell; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Friday, July 22, 2022, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home in North Little Rock, Ark., at 11 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with pastors Larry Campbell (son) and Tyler Campbell (grandson) officiating. Burial will follow at Orion Cemetery in Redfield, Ark. Online guestbook www.SmithFamilyCares.com
