Jayne "Paige" Tyler, 83, of Fayetteville, passed away on July 21, 2022 at the Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born May 18, 1939, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Jay P. and Vesta Wooldridge. She was a very proud, lifelong resident of Fort Smith until the last three years, when she moved to Fayetteville to live closer to her family. Paige was a long-time member of Goddard United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, and after moving to Fayetteville, was a loyal online attender. During her time at Goddard, she was passionate about working with the Missions program and enjoyed each summer shopping for school supplies to help prepare backpacks for the children of Fort Smith. Paige had a very long career as a secretary for Carco International in Fort Smith, where she was the personal secretary of Carl M. Corley, the founder of the Company. After retiring from Carco, Paige spent countless hours volunteering at Ms. Laura's visitors center in Fort Smith and at the Elvis Barber shop at Fort Chaffee. Some of her proudest accomplishments were receiving awards for 3,000 hours of volunteer work from Ms. Laura's and 1400+ hours of volunteer work from Chaffee Crossing. Paige was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband, Bill Tyler, who died in 1995. She is survived by her two sons, Tony Smith of Tulsa and Tim Smith (wife Cristy) of Fayetteville, and two grandchildren, Tyler Smith and Emma Smith of Fayetteville. In addition to loving her family, Paige had a great love for animals, especially her late Siamese cats, Sassy and Sasha. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with a burial service immediately following at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Goddard United Methodist Church, Missions, or to the Animal League of Washington County.
