Our knight-in-shining-armor, husband and beloved father-figure, Garry Kent Lee, broke our hearts when he passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, Rogers, Arkansas. Words cannot express our love and gratitude for his bringing us into his life. He was born on August 18, 1936, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, graduated in 1954 from Mahnomen High School, Mahnomen, Minnesota, then joined the United States Air Force, serving for over 23 years throughout the world. He then worked for the U.S. Postal Service for many years. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Rogers, a Distinguished Toastmaster in Toastmasters International, a Master Gardener, and a volunteer at Crystal Bridges in their dream home on Lake Windsor in Bella Vista. He was an outdoorsman, he loved fishing, gardening, boating, R.V. camping, caring for a multitude of bird feeders, and outdoor grilling. He loved to decorate for Christmas!! The house, roof, yard, dock, and cul-de-sac all sparkled with myriad lights. He also enjoyed attending orchestra concerts Museum of American Art in Bentonville. He married his beloved Marilyn November 19, 1976, living first on Beaver Lake at Hickory Creek, and then and operas, and listening to his bagpipe CDs. He had a ready wit; he was a complex man. Preceding him in death were his parents, Orville Hilmer (Gitch) Lee and Daisy Viola (Dee) Lee. Survivors include brothers, Dennis Lee and Wayne Lee (Jan), sister, Deanne Paggen, wife, Marilyn Horn Lee, and children-he-thought-of-as-his-own, Mike Dawson (Petra), Cheryl Remoy, Chuck Dawson, Rick Dawson (Lisa), Bobby Dawson (Beth), Becky McClellan, Susan Brown (Keith) and John Dawson. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022, 11 a.m., at Central United Methodist Church, Rogers, Arkansas, with interment at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Memorials may be given to Central United Methodist Church or a place of your choosing. Arrangements are under the direction of Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.
