Raymond Eugene Boyles, 63, of North Little Rock, passed away June 23, 2022. He was born March 1, 1959. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond William Boyles; and his mother, Virginia Lane Daniels Boyles. He was known professionally as "Raymond," but to his family he was "Gene" and "Ray" to some of his friends. Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 39 years and soulmate, Carolyn Vieth Boylesl sisters, Rebecca Boyles and Laura Lawson; a brother, David Boyles; three nieces, Michelle Mallott, who is also his goddaughter, Rhiannon Boyles, Meghan Caslin; and a nephew, Eric Boyles. He graduated from Augusta High School, where his classmates affectionately called him "the professor" because he knew a wider variety of answers to questions than his teachers did. He had a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Hendrix College, a master's degree in Sociology from Arkansas State University, and a law degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He was a retired attorney. He worked in private practice in Fayetteville and Augusta, for the Arkansas Insurance Department, the Arkansas Ethics Commission, as well as serving as a Law Clerk for the late Federal Judge Oren Harris. He and Carolyn adopted and cared for a wide variety of special needs cats. Graveside services will be held in Augusta at Augusta Memorial Park on Saturday, July 30th, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Blue Moon Cat Shelter, PO Box 44, Witter, Ark. 72776.
