Betty Lynn Snider of Arkadelphia, Ark., died Friday, July 22, 2022, in Arkadelphia, Ark. She was born in Hattiesburg, Miss., on July 27, 1939, to Robert and Lynette McKenzie. Betty Lynn graduated from high school at The Academy of Richmond County in Augusta and then earned a degree in education from Lander College (South Carolina). Soon afterwards, she met the love of her life and future husband, Ed Snider. She was a great mom to her two sons, Steve and Scott. She was Mimi to her six grandkids, Jack, Chase, Shelby, Keathley, Mary McKenzie and Pearson. She loved them dearly. Betty Lynn was a teacher at heart. She believed that to be a teacher is to be in the business of changing other people's lives forever…that was both her passion and her joy. She came to life in a whole new way during her last five years when she joined the caring community of Twin Rivers. The nurses and residents were always finding their way to Betty's room to get a little dose of her love and encouragement. She had a quiet but steadfast faith in her Lord Jesus Christ and lived out what He called her to do by loving every single person in her path. It didn't matter who they were or how different they were from her, she loved and cared for them all. She carried the peace of Christ in her heart. Betty Lynn was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; her parents, Robert and Lynette; and her son, Scott. She is survived by her brother, Bob McKenzie (Molly); brother, Don McKenzie (Debra); sister, Chris Perkey (Bart); son, Steve Snider (Beth); daughter-in-law, Mary Fahoum (Yousef); six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are entrusted to Ruggles-Wilcox in Arkadelphia. Much love and thanks to the special people at Twin Rivers for loving her so well. A memorial service will be held at Ruggles-Wilcox on Monday, August 1 at 1:00, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ouachita Baptist University.
