Clay Randall Davenport of Rison, Ark., was born December 15, 1960, in Pine Bluff, Ark., to Bill and Betty Davenport. He was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School. Clay loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, although fishing was his world, and has won numerous tournaments. Even though he loved spending time in his man cave in his shop, he was a people person, and loved entertaining. He will be remembered for his love of grilling and cooking, even cooking for his own retirement party from Entergy after 30 years of service, retiring as a power plant operator. Clay loved his spending time with his family, and his dogs, Bella and Wilson, and his cats, BitBit, Mr. Kitty, and Gabby. Clay passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, in Pine Bluff, at the age of 61. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife and partner for 35 years, Linda Billingsley Davenport; one daughter, Brandy Barnett and husband, Vince; two grandchildren, Hunter and Lauren Barnett; one sister, Starr Kemp and husband, Jake; two brothers, Kim Davenport and Todd Davenport; and a number of other relatives and a host of friends. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2022, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, followed by a celebration of his life at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions in his memory are to be made to the ASPCA, or Arkansas Children's Hospital.
