John Waldon Paschal, age 77, of Fayetteville, Ark., died peacefully in his home Sunday July 24, 2022. He was born January 21, 1945, in Fayetteville to Jesse "Vance" and Bonnie Nickell Paschal. He was preceded in death by his father, Vance; and his mother, Bonnie; two sons, Jeremy Paschal and George Clark; three sisters, Mary Ruth Sallee, Janie Noisewater and Patsy Doolin; and one brother, Jerry Paschal. John served three years in the U.S. Army and retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture after 40 years. He spent many years as a food inspector at Campbell Soup/Pinnacle. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Goddard College, was a Certified Flight Instructor and enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He was a member of Wiggins United Methodist Church (now known as Genesis Church) in Fayetteville. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Karen Krebs Paschal; four sons, Greg Paschal and his wife Kate of Rogers, Byron Paschal and his wife Jennifer of Fort Smith, Doug Paschal and his wife Robyn of Springdale, and David Paschal and his wife Amanda of Elkins; numerous grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was lovingly cared for in his home by caregivers Jamie Warren, Morgan Bilderback, Connie Payne, and many more over the years. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 30, at Nickell Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Jody Farrell of Genesis Church. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, at Moore's Chapel. Burial will be in Nickell Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to: National Parkinson Foundation, Inc.
