Harlan "Don" McGee, born in Vashiti, Texas, January 22, 1934, and passed away June 18, 2022, peacefully holding hands with his wife of 64 years. He married the love of his life, Arlene Whalen, on July 5, 1958; he loved Linda Casey, who was like a daughter, and her dog, Sadie, Elly Mae, and he loved and took great pride in being an uncle to his nephews and great nephews and nieces. He retired from the United States Air Force after 26 years on November 1, 1979, and a lifetime member of the NRA. Don was loved by many for his quick wit and vast knowledge on many different subjects. Don was always up to something and had many hobbies: archery, fishing, skeet, trap, hunting, motorcycle, snowmobiling, singing, animal lover and devoted uncle. The family is blessed to have wonderful friends and neighbors that made sure they were well taken care of. Thank you to caring staff of Mercy Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Doris McGee, grandparents Make and Ola Johnson. Don is survived by his wife, Arlene; his many other family members; and friends that were like family. Ceremony will be at the National Cemetery at Fayetteville, Ark., with full military honors on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St Judes, Cat Rescue Clinic in Rogers or American Cancer Society in his name.
