Johnny Mac Holloway went peacefully home to the Lord on May 5, 2022, at age 86. He was born July 7, 1935, in Curtis, Ark., to the late Cecil and Helen Holloway. He was a 1953 graduate of Arkadelphia High School, attended Henderson State University, and served in the Korean War with the U.S. Navy. He left a long line of loved ones, including his wife of 30 years, Doris Burnett Holloway; son J. Shan Holloway of Arkadelphia; daughter Laura Beth Hedgepeth of Vilonia; sisters Charladean Franklin and her husband Larry of Little Rock, Sue Edmonds of Maumelle, and Phyllis Hancock of Rogers; grandchildren Rachel Gunnell-Smith of Conway, Holden Hedgepeth of Damascus, Hannah Holloway Shaw of Arkadelphia, Holly Hedgepeth of Guy; great-grandchildren Deuce Ackerson and Steeley Anne Shaw; step-children Lynn King of Conway and Jennifer Thompson of North Little Rock; four step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Steve Allen Holloway, sister Patsy Craig and two brothers-in-law. Visitation will be held 12–2 p.m., May 10, at Third Street Baptist Church, with a celebration of life immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Third Street Baptist Church's Cornerstone Sunday School group, 224 Crawford St, Arkadelphia, Ark., 71923.
