Janice Eilene Nelson

Janice Eilene Nelson, age 86, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Monday, May 2, 2022. Janice was born May 6, 1935, in Dallas, Wisconsin, to Milton and Mable (Petersen) Jacobson. She paused her career to raise her family before returning as an Executive Secretary, from which she retired. Janice was a life-long Lutheran and an active, devoted, member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers. She was very active in Stephen ministry and Via de Cristo. Through the years, she enjoyed singing in her church's choirs and the Northwest Arkansas Chorale, giving piano lessons, knitting, reading and countless other activities. Janice will be long remembered for the positive attitude she shared with her friends and family. Janice is survived by her son, Steven (Linda) Nelson of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Lois Nelson and Karen (Scott) Klane, both of Rogers; grandchildren, Jennifer (Armando) Lopez, Candice Nelson, Joshua (Jenny) Gentz, Matthew Hopkins, Branden Gentz, Brett Gentz and Jacob Klane; great-grandchildren, Paige Garrison, Diego Lopez, Jaxon Lopez and Claire Gentz. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sterling; sister, Muriel Berglund, and daughter, Jo Anne Nelson. Mrs. Nelson's Funeral Service will begin at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers with inurnment to follow in Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers.
