Nancy graduated from Spring Branch High School in Houston, Texas in 1962, and earned a business degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1967, during a time when there were few women pursuing degrees in business. She was a proud member of the Longhorn marching band and played the bass clarinet. Nancy married Bert Wayne Guidry in 1974, and moved to Rogers, Ark. She was a long-time member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, Rogers and member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, Boston. Nancy had several professional positions in Rogers but worked for the school system until she ultimately retired. She enjoyed playing the piano, was an avid reader, took many walks with her husband, loved her pets, but most of all, loved her family, children, and grandchildren. Nancy and Wayne moved to Houston in 2017 to be closer to her children and grandchildren, and she took great joy in participating in their lives and activities. Nancy Guidry leaves behind her loving husband of 48 years, Wayne; daughter, Jessica Anderson of Houston; and son, Travis Guidry of Katy; as well as grandchildren, Austen and Reid Anderson, and Grace, Daniel, and Isaac Guidry; brother, Robert Mills and wife, Norma; plus many cousins, nieces, and friends. Nancy was described by those who knew her best as kind, loyal, cheerful, positive and had the ability to make everyone feel important as she was always interested in others and what they had to say. Ultimately, she was a true lady. She will be missed every day by her family and those who knew her.
