Maryanna Hale Waller

Maryanna Hale Waller, 80, of Sheridan, was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to make people laugh. She passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Maryanna was born on May 25, 1941, in Spokane, Washington, to the late Elbert Hale and Wilma Mitosinka Hale. She graduated from Sheridan High School and earned her cosmetology license at Arkansas Beauty School. She worked as a cosmetologist/beautician before working at Cosmopolitan Spa as an exercise instructor. Maryanna became a very successful entrepreneur, owning and operating a couple of mobile home parks and storage units. After earning her degree as a draftsperson, she worked for Smith Construction in Little Rock as a draftsperson. She later invented the wheelchair shopping basket in memory of her mother, Wilma Hale. She was also a very talented seamstress, upholsterer, photographer, and costume designer. Maryanna enjoyed fishing, horseback riding and dancing, which she passionately taught her children. She competed many times in state horseback riding competitions. She was a member of Lawrence riding club where she loved to partake in the riding shows. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandchild, Jeremy Goshien. Survivors include her children, Scarlet Bitzer (Dr. Lon), Kevin Goshien (Rhonda), Dana Isaac (Marcus); her brother, Charles Eastern Hale; her grandchildren, Aaron, Bonnie, Brittany, Joshua, and Denise; and her great-grandchildren, Braxton, Brooklyn, Sawyer, Harleigh Raye, Elizabeth, and Ethan. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2022, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Aaron Threlkeld officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
