Marcheta "Keta" Hayes Mallard

Marcheta "Keta" Hayes Mallard, 84 of Star City, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022, at East Point Health and Rehab. She was born January 12, 1938, in Yellville to the late Woodrow W. and Lena Nowlin Hayes. She was a graduate of North Little Rock High School and St. Vincent School of Nursing. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Star City and was retired from St. Vincent Infirmary as a nurse. Keta was a loving mother, enjoyed her yard, flowers and gardening, and she loved her animals. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Mallard; and a daughter, Paula Danette Mallard. Survivors include one son, Mark Mallard of Star City; and many extended family and friends. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May, 26, 2022, at Griffin Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2022, at First United Methodist Church with Bro. Russell Hull officiating. Burial at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chaz Jones, Mike McMillen, Jeff Ratterree, Jeff Frizzell, Paul Moore and Vic Harper. Honorary pallbearer is Peyton Jones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 300 Washington Street, Star City, Ark. 71667, Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.
