Richard Allen "Ricky" Young

Richard Allen "Ricky" Young, 63, of North Little Rock passed away May 19, 2022. He was born in Little Rock on July 30, 1958. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad, where his coworkers lovingly referred to him as "Box Car." He was passionate about music, history, and being outdoors enjoying nature. He treasured his friends and family, loved the Lord, and diligently studied the Bible. He is survived by his parents, Hellen Young and Van Lowe (Wynema Lowe); daughter, Stephanie Jeffers (Michael Jeffers) of Carefree, Ariz.; granddaughters, Jordan Jeffers and Whitney Jeffers of Carefree, Ariz.; sister, Sharon Carter-Duff (Kenny) of Hattiesburg, Miss.; brother, Mark Lowe of Salt Lake City, Utah. Ricky was preceded in death by his dad, Robert Young; sister, Vicki Dempsey. Funeral is 10 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Committal service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Union Cemetery, Rye, Ark.
