Burlene Gray Lamberth, passed away May 23, 2022, one day after celebrating her 99th birthday. She was the ninth of ten children born to Laura and Charlie Gray of Adamsville, Tennessee. She will be most remembered for her wicked sense of humor, her love of laughter, her generous heart, and her unconditional love for her family and many friends. She was always ready with a funny joke to make you laugh and a kind word to make you feel good. She was an avid sports fan and loved cheering for her beloved Mississippi State Bulldogs. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and thanked Him every day for her blessings and for the gift of grace. In 1945, she met a tall, handsome Marine on a bus when he offered to carry her suitcase and married him, the love of her life, a year later. She and Marcus Daniel Lamberth were married 47 years until his passing in 1993. She looked forward to the happy day when they would be reunited. Burlene leaves behind her family who loved her dearly and will always remember the lessons she taught them through the way she lived her life. She is survived by her three children, Mark Lamberth and wife, Dianne; John Lamberth and wife, Ava; and Dana Lou Bunten and husband, John. She also leaves behind her grandchildren whom she adored and who likewise delighted in their "Mema"; Lauren Patterson; Lance Lamberth and wife, Kim; Laura Anne Jenkins and husband, Cody; Elizabeth Newman and husband, JW; Kelly Bunten and fiancé, Alex; and John Bunten III. She was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren, Georgia Caroline, Scarlett, Virginia, Daniel, and Lena Patterson; Marcus Howard Lamberth, Madelyn and Victoria Vance; Walt, Gray, and Daniel Newman; and Wes and Lane Jenkins. Heartfelt thanks is extended to Dr. Chris Morgan and her wonderful caregivers Carolyn Amos, Elaine Amos, Tiffany Reed, Carolyn Pickett, Michelle Williams, and Carl Simms. A special thanks is also given to Debbie Wood, Dr. Jay Jeffrey, and Dr. Caleb Oster at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Ark. Burlene had a special place in her heart for children. In lieu of flowers, she would want any donations to be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at: st.jude.org or the organization of your choice. A graveside celebration will be held Friday, May 27, at 1 p.m., at The Chapel at Lone Tree Cemetery in Stuttgart, Ark. Please go to: www.turpin-co.com to sign the online guestbook.
