William I. Nechkash passed away May 24, 2022, at the age of 83, after a long illness. He was born in Montfort, Wis., on December 8, 1938, the eldest son of Alouis "Dudley" Nechkash and Frieda (Ninemann) Nechkash. Bill grew up in Wisconsin, and after graduating from Berlin High School, enlisted in the Marines. A medical discharge forced him to begin his working career. He met and married his wife in 1959 and soon had a family of three boys. They moved to Omaha, Neb., in 1964, where he worked as a mechanic for 28 years, and then for FDR for nine. He retired and he and his wife moved to Rogers, Ark., to live on the lake. He had a great work ethic. He always told his sons "Don't start something unless you're going to give it your best and finish what you start". He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jacqueline; son, Scott of Iowa; son, Jeffrey of Iowa; eight remaining sisters and brothers; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rosie, Donna and Mary; brother, Pete; and son, Ricky. A memorial celebrating his life, will be later in Berlin, Wis.
