On October 28, 2022, Ellen Mary Crews (nee Johnson) passed away peacefully at her home in Conway, Ark. She was born on October 7, 1950, in Springfield, Mo., to the late Ralph and Hazel (nee Bryant) Johnson. She grew up in Mountain Home, Ark., where she met and later married her high school sweetheart, Patrick Everett Crews. Together they had two sons, Jason and Jordan.
Ellen's two most defining characteristics were her kindness towards others and love for her family and friends. Ellen spent much of her time talking about her loved ones, sharing stories about her childhood, bragging on her grandchildren, and doting on her little dog, Lovie. Ellen put her faith in Jesus Christ and trusted in Him throughout her life to direct her path. Her smile was infectious to everyone around her. She was an excellent cook, blessing her family with delicious meals at holidays.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her older brother, Hal Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Jason Crews, and his wife, Nikki, of Conroe, Texas; her son, Jordan Crews, and his wife, Carol, of Conway, Ark.; her brother, Dr. David Johnson, and his wife, Adonna, of Searcy, Ark.; her niece, Daye Coates, and her husband, Wes, of Fayetteville, Ark.; granddaughter, Dylan Crews; grandsons, Jackson and Nathan Crews and another one on the way; her beloved lifelong best friend, Mary Ann Goforth of Gamaliel, Ark., as well as numerous cousins and friends.
There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 9-11 a.m., at the Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Ark., followed by a graveside service at the Gassville City Cemetery at 3 p.m. in Gassville, Ark., where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
