Senior Pastor Buel Curtis, 77, of Fayetteville, Ark., went Home to his Lord on Oct 31, 2022. He was born on January 25, 1945, to Richard and Dollie Curtis of England, Ark. Buel was saved in January of 1964 and called to ministry in 1968 where he began evangelizing. He was an ordained minister of the Pentecostal Church of God, and in 1970 he pioneered his first church in McGehee, Ark., and pastored for five years. He went on to evangelize again for two years before accepting the Pastoral position at Living Faith Church Fayetteville, Ark., in 1977. During his ministry service in Fayetteville, he obtained his bachelor's degree of Biblical Studies from Evangelical Christian College. He was also bestowed an Honorary Doctorate from Evangelical Christian College for his many years of ministry service. Buel served for the next 43 years as Pastor of Living Faith Church in Fayetteville, Ark. He was also a certified volunteer Chaplin for Washington Regional Medical Center where he served for several years. His greatest desire was to share to all he could the wonderous Love of God, and he dedicated his life to bringing people to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus. Buel was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dollie Curtis, and stepmother, Viola Curtis; three brothers, Willie B. Curtis, Ronnie Curtis, and Huel Curtis; two sisters, Patsy Hawkins and Evelyn Paul; and one great-grandson, William Judah Overton. Buel is survived by his wife and love of his life of 58 years, Glenda Curtis of the home.; one brother, Roy Curtis of Sherwood, Ark.; one son, Steven Curtis and his wife Beth of Fayetteville, Ark.; two daughters, Sharon Hill and her husband Monroe of West Fork, Ark., and Carol Shadrick and her husband Cheston of Fayetteville, Ark.; four granddaughters, Stefani Abram and her husband Brandon, Mallory Haney and her husband Michael, Jordan Overton and her husband Justin, and Jaclyn Kahl and her husband Mitchel; three grandsons, Trent Hill and his wife Lauren, Jonathan Curtis and his wife Kaytlin, and Colton Shadrick and his wife Alyson; 12 great-grandchildren, Greyson Abram, Annabelle Abram, Londyn Haney, Acelyn Abram, Oaklyn Haney, Savannah Abram, Estella Shadrick, Eden Haney, Georgia Kahl, Darci Overton, Lola Hill, and Leo Shadrick Buel loved his Lord, family, and friends, and spending time together with them brought him great joy. He loved having fun and had a unique laugh that was so contagious and full of happiness you couldn't help but join in. His love transformed the lives of everyone he encountered. He brought such joy with his smile and unbounded love. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, share himself and evoke that same spirit of love in each person he knew. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022, from 5-7 p.m., and funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday November 3rd, 2022, both at Living Faith Church, 1351 Morningside Drive, Fayetteville, Ark.
