Peggy Thompson Mize

Peggy Thompson Mize, age 90, of Benton, passed away early on Thursday, November 3, 2022. She was born February 15, 1932, to Orrie and Pauline Thompson of Des Arc, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Dale Mize, who was the love of her life and her best friend. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Mize of Little Rock, Robin Fuhrman (Bryant) of Salida, Colo., Paula Dahm (Mike) of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and grandchildren, Brian Dahm (Julia) and Beth Ballard (Ben), and three great-grandchildren, all from Pittsburgh, Pa. She was also survived by her sister, Martha Cash of Cabot and John Thompson (Louise) of Conway. As the daughter of a Methodist minister, Peggy was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Benton. She loved sitting at the piano playing hymns, especially with family members singing along or her grandson Brian accompanying her on the trumpet. Peggy enjoyed many things in life such as golf, bridge, dogs, gardening, baking cookies, Razorback sports and traveling with Dale. Their last trip was a road trip to complete their goal of travel through all 50 states. Peggy was a loving, passionate wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She never hesitated to host a party in her home and was known for her hospitality, and wonderful humor. The example she set will influence many lives forever. The family would like to thank the women of Charlotte's Home Care Service for their exemplary care, love, and service in taking care of our mother for the past five years. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Benton at 3 p.m. on Monday, November 7th. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 N Market Street, Benton, Ark. 72015. Guestbook, ashbyfuneralhome.com.
