Johnnie Ann Watkins

Johnnie Ann Watkins, 75, of Elkins, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022 at her home. She was born Feb. 4, 1947 in Spiro, Okla., to William and Georgia Baxter Oliver. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Kelly Watkins, Sr. and son Joe Kelly Watkins, Jr. Johnnie was a teacher for Head Start for many years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, cross stitch and cooking. She especially enjoyed her family mainly the grandchildren. Johnnie is survived by her children; son, Johnathan Watkins of Fayetteville, two daughters, JoAnna Farmer of Wisconsin and Jada Curran of Fayetteville; brother, Bruce Oliver of Lincoln and two sisters, Jamie Cavness of Westville, Okla., and Jeanine McCleland of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, Paige Tucker, Payton Johnson, Lani Howard, McKala Fitts, Jacob Hoffman, Addison Watkins and Shelby Watkins; and five great-grandchildren (with one on the way). Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022 at Beards Funeral Chapel with Daniel Dickard officiating. Burial will follow at Mt Olive Cemetery.
