DAVID EVANS of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Nov. 3, 2022. Born in Arkadelphia, Ark., on Jan. 13, 1936 David grew up in Malvern, Ark. Growing up his family spent several seasons harvesting Apples in Yakima, Wash. It became a regular work experience/trip they would make and that David was not a fan of. After graduating High School his parents were getting ready to go on the next apple season trip and David told them he was done. He stayed home and ended up marrying Nancy Ann Williams while his parents were in Yakima. But they thought that was great and Nancy quickly became the daughter they never had. While working at the Food Center in Malvern after graduation, the owner of Magnolia Cafeteria watched David work and asked him if he would come to work for him. Mr. Hensley told him "I want to teach you how to run my restaurants." And David began a career running Magnolia Cafeterias in Malvern, Little Rock, North Little Rock and Pine Bluff. After 22 years with Magnolia Cafeteria David then worked in Restaurant equipment parts with Dixie Equipment and Aimco Equipment. David's kids and grandkids will tell you that his gentleness and easy-going character were unmatched. He was a gentle giant that gave the best hugs. He leaves an enduring legacy as being a man who was easy to love. His great- grandkids lit up his eyes and heart. These last four years David so loved to watch them and play with them. He was certainly a fantastic cook. All the family will forever miss his fried chicken, barbecue chicken and fried catfish. He gave us a lot of memories we will have the rest of our lives. David is preceded in death by his parents Earl David Evans and Hazel Sue Evans and brother, Fulton Earl Evans. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nancy. His sons, Randy and his wife Teresa and Mark and his wife Terri. Grandchildren: Kerry Evans, Austin (Jenny), Haley (Steven) and great-grandchildren: Ruthie and Brayden. David was a founding member of The Church at Rock Creek. Services will be Wednesday, Nov. 9th at The Church at Rock Creek with Visitation at 10 a.m. and Service at 11 a.m., officiated by Greg Kirksey and Paul Truett.
