James "Jimmy" Schulthess, age 76, of Rogers, passed away November 3, 2022. Jimmy was born September 26, 1946, in Hutchinson, Kan., to parents Glen Schulthess and Maxine Ketterman Schulthess. He was a graduate of Kansas State University and later attended the Arizona State College of Law. It was at this time that Jimmy began a career working with greyhounds and was later dubbed "the best greyhound trainer in the country". He had a great love for animals and most especially dogs. Over the years, he raced and lived in West Memphis, Ark., as well as St. Petersburg, Fla., and greatly enjoyed reading, golf, hiking, boating on Beaver Lake and spending time with family and friends. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Dolly Ross Lyon, of the home; daughters, Amy Schulthess Venable, and husband Jason, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Kelli Schulthess and husband, Patrick Adams, of Reading, Pa.; sister, Linda Schrock of Haven, Kan.; brother, John Schulthess of Hutchinson, Kan.; nephew, Keith Engweiler of Haven, Kan.; niece, Nancy Belden of Austin, Texas; his daughters' mother, Jane Schulthess of St. Petersburg, Fla.; granddaughter, Janey Venable; and a host of other relatives and friends. At Jimmy's request no services will be held. Memorials in his memory can be made to the Circle of Life Hospice. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 West Walnut, Rogers, Ark.
