Mary Edith Staples passed quietly from this earthly life into the awesome presence of her Lord and savior Jesus Christ on November 4, 2022.
Mary Edith was born in Delta, Colo., on March 29, 1930, to Claude Hammond Trickett and Iva Sadie Cowley Trickett.
She married Leslie Eugene Staples on April 2, 1949. Together they had three sons: Stephen Staples (married to Deborah), Gregory Staples (married to JoAnn), and Ricky Staples (married to Teresa).
She has nine grandchildren: Julie, Kevin, Mark, Jennifer, Jamie, Diane, Jason, Derrick, and Jon; 12 great-grandchildren: Alicea, Ryan, Preston, Lane, Abby, Madison, Harper, Sawyer, Mallory, Levi, Blakeleigh, and Kailyn; and two great-great grandchildren, Avery and Sage.
Mary Edith loved her family and had many dear friends. She had a very humorous way about her, she was a good listener, and always seemed to excel at the games she played at Parkstone Place. We will miss her deeply.
Deepest appreciation to Greg and JoAnn, who took her into their home and selflessly and lovingly cared for her during her last days.
Services will be Thursday, November 17, at 1 p.m., at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock.
